Patience is a heavenly virtue

May 6, 2019

Happy Monday everybody! Can I just say, the Lord is so good to us? He really is. And I love Him.

This past week, I was studying and thinking about what I should develop of the Christlike attributes. You already know, when we ask God what we need to improve or change, He lets us know pretty quickly.

So I am trying to develop more patience. I like it, it is very closely related with faith and hope. At the end of my study, I prayed for the opportunity to develop patience.
HE ANSWERED.
Splits with Herbertson! So great!

This week, it was hot.
This week, it was very, very, hot. It was also the "Día del Niño" so everybody was out and about partying, just like the past 2 weeks. So there weren't very many people available.

We planned well, but the backups to the backups fell. People that were going to get baptized suddenly had to suspend our visits, and people that were going to come to church never showed up. I may or may not have resorted to contacting the sad drunk on the street corner before calling a taxi to take him home.

But you guys, I never stopped feeling the Spirit. The Lord never stopped helping us, and for 3 nights straight at about 7:30 pm we received tender mercies. A member (hna. Gisel) that decided to grab us some tacos before dropping us off at an appointment, or Citlali, who we randomly met while looking for an address and received us and also accepted a baptismal date for May 26th. I received "ánimo" or encouragement in every single personal study, and got to witness God's immediate goodness.
Sweet tender mercy! Morida bought us tacos!

You'll have to translate this one: I am trying to finish Doctrine and Covenants before I go home, so I was blazing through it and receiving so much help along the way. DyC 64:33-34.

"Por tanto, no os canséis de hacer lo bueno, porque estáis poniendo los cimientos de una gran obra. Y de las cosas pequeñas proceden las cosas grandes.
He aquí, el Señor requiere el corazón y una mente bien dispuesta; y los de buena voluntad y los obedientes comerán de la abundancia de la tierra de Sion en estos postreros días."

Translated: Wherefore, be not weary in well doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great.

Behold, the Lord requireth the heart and a willing mind; and the willing and obedient shall eat the good of the land of Zion in these last days.

Isn't this unreal!!!

Love you MOM!
I know that God lives, that He loves us, and He understands. I still don't quite understand that kind of love, but I sure am grateful for it. I am so so grateful that He patiently waits for me as I pause under the shade to take a sip of water, as I pause to say, "What now?" And as He patiently and lovingly guides our steps and opens hearts.
Melina and me enjoying the beauty
We had a beautiful trip out to some gorgeous waterfalls for pday!!!

I know I only have one more letter to write from the mission field. I have got 2 more weeks out here. Guys, I love it. I do. If somebody gave me the chance to go back to November 21st, 2017, I would take that chance in a heartbeat! But for now, I am going to keep preaching, teaching, and learning from my Father. There is nothing better. I love you all! Until next week.
