Hola Family,
Swimming in rain. Just for a couple of days. But SO much. I think that for a moment God was tempted to send another flood. Can´t say I blame him.
Happy Monday! Today (as is everyday) was an expierience. We went to Palenque today (it is only about an hour away) to play sports with a couple of other zones. Super fun! It is hilarious. Because there are all these latinos who are born with a soccer ball in their hand... and then there is the crazy American running around like a pollo sin su cabeza. All of the Elders now know to fear me and my mad soccer and bball skills. haha

Gotta love me a coke down here in Mexico!!!
Life is good! Working hard down here. I was so happy this past week because we had an awesome lesson with our fecha, Elizabeth. I felt the strongest impression during the lesson to tell her that she is loved. So I told her that God loved her. After, we had her pray and we asked her how she felt. She said she couldn´t explain, she felt like crying though. And we were just like, "YEAH!!! EL ESPÍRITU SANTO!!!" So that was great. Love her.

Top: Malecon in Daytime. Bottom: We loved helping Sister Imelda paint her home!
This week we had a little ward activity where we were kind of reenacting Lehi´s dream of the tree of life. Every room was a different temptation, like money, sports, food. And my room was dancing/fiesta!! Haha I have never laughed so hard in my life you guys. Jk, I probably have, but that was the hardest I laughed that day.
Especially because Hermano Chable, this skinny, middle aged man, just jumps in and starts going ham. Oh these people are hilarious.

Random holes in the sidewalk. They're pretty deep! Waiting for the day I step in one! |

Walking dirt roads for miles! Hard work but wonderful work!!!
All in all, a good week. So much stuff happens in a day, let alone a week, that it is impossible to write it all down in an email. But the important thing at the end of the day is gratitude. For example, we were cracking up today driving back from Palenque. We were in a convey (so many people crammed in such a small space) and I was just so stoked because one of the windows didn´t have a tint to it and was SO CLEAN. I was so excited you guys. It was awesome. We were cracking up because of just how happy I was about a window.

Itinerary and the great Elders we work with!!! Love Elder Alcala!
Obviously, I was really hungry and slightly delirious at the time. But it is so important to be grateful for the little things. When you are happy or enjoy something or someone, say it. Help to lift up those around you.
God is good to us down here. The work is hard but wonderful. And a smile goes a long way. Love you all! Till next week! Adieu!
