The Island Life for Me

Lo, we have left all, and followed thee. (Luke 18:28)
Lo, we have left all, and followed thee. (Luke 18:28)
Happy Monday everybody! This week has been nothing short of a surprise. I have a story to tell you.
So on Thursday we went to the Malecón do exercise (Villarreal and I peppered with our new volleyball, it was the best) And at the end we were cooling down and walking the malecón. I began to pray about cambios, even though the cambios aren't going to happen until next week. I asked if I was going to leave Zapata. I felt a blanket of peace come over me and knew that I was going. So I felt good and decided that I was going to enjoy these final couple of weeks in Zapata. We got back to the house and were preparing breakfast when we got a call from Presidente Haws. He said, "Well Hermana Roe, your time has come! You have cambios!" Unfortunately a Hermana decided to go home. I had an hour to pack before we had to travel for Villahermosa. I realized that God had answered my prayer earlier; yes, I was going to have cambios. Right then. haha
My old District! Oh how I LOVE them all!!!
Thankfully we were able to get everything packed, and the Elderes came to the station to send me off. We took one last district photo. So grateful for my district! It was a little hard to leave when Elder Antunez started to sing "Recuerdame" as I was leaving. Triste Antunez haha.
Quick packing and fast goodbye!
I am now companions with Hermana Gonzalez! She is from Guatemala, and she only has one cambio mas. (the cambio that begins next week) We are here in Ciudad del Carmen! It is a little island city. The exact opposite from Zapata. It is fun. I am in a different state now as well, in Campeche. We are excited for all the fun work ahead of us! There are 2 other hermanas in our district, and Hermana Rodriguez is going to finish at the same time as Gonzalez. So it is going to be really fun, we are going to make the most of this time!
This place is opposite of where I have been serving though there was beauty in both places!
It was kind of hard to leave Zapata, especially because I didn't get to say goodbye. But my little notebook stayed there for people to write in, I will get it in a couple of weeks. And the president of the young mens (Luis Manzo) called me, as well as Presidente Enrique (branch pres) and Hermana Huber and Elder Perez (my friends in Palenque) called me to say goodbye while I was in the bus. It was fun, Hermana Gonzalez is super excited. She told me that she really felt like Carmen needs an American. Haha we will see.
Carmen is beautiful! So excited to serve with Hermana Gonzalez
Sometimes it is hard to leave everything at the drop of a dime. But I was reminded of the purpose behind it all, with the words of Peter. "Lo, we have left all, and followed thee."
It is true. Left it all behind it Zapata. But I know that there are wonderful changes, people, and experiences to be found here in Carmen. I would leave again and again to follow Him.
Jesus is the Christ. He lives. I love Him.
Love you all, have an amazing week! Don't forget to be specific in your prayers; in asking and thanking.
Hermana Brenna Roe
