Life is made up of Moments, and Turn over every Rock

July 9.2018

Happy Monday everybody! I hope everyone is doing well. This week was good! It was interesting, because we lost 2 days of work because we were traveling. But excited for this week!

Life is meant to be enjoyed. So enjoy it by serving others, and have some laughs along the way. Just wanted to share a moment that I loved from this week.
Love these Hermana's
Sweet, smart Naomi

Sunday evening we went to our final appointment of the day, with Naomi. Naomi is 8 years old and is going to get baptized this Saturday! Her parents are members inactivos so they asked us to help Naomi get ready for her baptism.

Last night we arrived right on time, and we see that the lights are all off. So for a hot minute we were like, no, they forgot about the appointment! But then we see through their window that they are just watching a movie. So we yell buenas noches and knock on the door. Again. And again. And again. And they don't hear us at all. It is dark and we see an even darker cloud coming for us, which means some crazy island rain. We hear the thunder, and start to panic. We were outside whisper screaming, "ABRA LA PUERTA!! POR FAVOR!!!" Inbetween trying not to laugh so hard as to make us cry, I was pretty sure that I saw a ghost. But it was just a drunk chilling in a house under construction.
Our district: 2 from USA, 2 from Mexico, 2 from Peru, 1 from Equador!

Finally Tovalino told me to go look through to window, she told me to just look, because they can't see us. I creep over to the window and the dad is conked out on the couch, but the Holy Ghost must have whisper-shouted like us because he opens his eyes and see me and jolts off the couch. It startled me so I yelled buenas noches and offered up a silent prayer of gratitude that he opened the door up before the rain started up.

When you are up against a wall thinking that there are angry spirits and island rain coming up and you just want somebody to open the door so you can teach them something about true happiness, you really find out who is behind the nametag. Be yourself, be kind, and don't worry about the rest. Keep on walking the path that Christ cut out for us, and keep a smile on. Read your scriptures, and keep praying. I love you all! Have a great week!

Turn Over Every Rock                                                                                          July 16, 2018
Happy Monday everybody! Do you know what that means? Flan day!

Haha, anyways, we had a great week! Super grateful as always for zone conference and the constant revelation that is flowing in this mission. So grateful to be here in the jungle!
Had to walk through the monkeys to get to this view!
These unsupervised wild monkeys are a bit scary
Pday on the beach....volleyball yes!!!!
This week we were able to teach Guadalupe, and she is a miracle. I just want to explain how we met Guadalupe, a single mom of 1 kiddo. It reminds me of what President Haws taught us this past week, we have to turn over every rock!

A few weeks ago it was raining like crazy so we ran into a tienda to take shelter. We contacted Miguel, who gave us an interesting address. We tried to find his house twice, and the second time we contacted one of the houses that wasn't his. There we met Ana, we put an appointment with her. We looked for Ana twice but she was never there, but her sister in law Guadalupe answered the door. We also contacted Guadalupe. The other day we decided to go see if Ana was home, she wasn't. But Guadalupe was! We taught a small lesson about prayer, and it was so obvious that she felt something. We asked her about how she felt or if she had a question, but she said no. At the end she walked us out and told us, "Can I ask a question?" We of course said no. Haha, I am kidding, we said sí.

She told us that she feels scared to express her feelings in front of her family, but she wanted us to keep visiting her. Just maybe in another place or when her family wasn't home. She literally asked us to keep visiting, bless her soul.

It would have been so easy to stop looking for Miguel's house, to never try again. We knew we weren't going to find it. But we have to turn over every rock! I know that this principle of dilligence is true and brings nothing but blessings. I am so grateful for it. Keep pushing forward, don't give up. I love you all! Have a great week!
