Oink! Oink!
Happy Monday from Villalta! October 29,2018
Fun fact, Villa means village and alta means tall or high. So trust me when I say that we are working on our legs out here. :)
I truly believe that God guides us and know that He gives us the strength to carry on. He sends help along the way. For example, if Conseco sees us in the street, he comes running and walks with us to our next appointment. (and makes sure we are always walking on the sidewalk) It amazes me how these youth, surrounded by terrible circumstances, recognize and chase after the light.

Our week was a great week of hard work. Getting to know the area, the people, getting lost and enjoying life.
Something super awesome is that we get to teach some great youth! Honestly one of the highlights. There are always people I remember teaching, and I think these youth will be part of those memories. Karen, Conseco, Carlos, Maria de Jesús, Vania, Naidelin, and Ciclali are just a few to be mentioned.
I remember the first night we went out there, we walked down these 2 huge hills and are just walking towards the jungle. There were a bunch of youth playing outside in the street, and Hna. Garcia tells me, "Here we are." and I'm just like, "Who are we teaching?" "All of them!" And sure enough, they all come running and sit down on come cement pipe stuff and we teach. So amazing. They really do enjoy learning. They ask questions, and always want to play something.
Cling to the light! Cling to those moments of joy. They are so special and will lift us up throughout our lives.
Ah, oink. Let me explain. The other day we were walking (surprise) and a truck passed by full of pigs. And I was thinking, "Cool. People here like pork." Lies. Well, I mean, I'm sure they do, but guess who else? San Judas Tadeo. (it's a saint) It was his bday on Sunday! And he enjoys pig sacrifices! So that was fun to listen to, banda (musica) and pigs being slaughtered as we walked down the street. Oh my dear dear México.
I love you all! Enjoy your week!
