Success vs Failure

Hello! Happy Monday!                                                                                               Sept. 3, 2018

  Cannot believe how quickly every cambio passes by. Here's to the final week of this cambio! (transfers)

"Sucess doesn't consist of never failing, it is moving from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm."

Just wanted to share the thought that God's timing is perfect in every way! Sometimes we believe we should have "limited time" challenges. When we know that we have learned our lesson, we say, "Ok! Thanks for the experience, I think I understand now. Now I'll just continue on my way!"

But life isn't like that! In this gospel (and life) we are constantly under construction. I think we expect that, the construction. But I don't think I ever expect the re-construction and remodeling. It is almost like our Heavenly Father lovingly takes us by the hand and tells us, "Well done. Now, lets adjust this, take this down, and I think that you're ready to just move this on out." So I think it's safe to say there is never a dull moment of peace. 
We sure love Belen, with all our hearts!!!
This week we were planning on having Belen's baptism, and we went to talk with her mom and get everything lined up. But her mom (whom I love and respect) told us that she doesn't think that Belen is ready. She ended up saying that she should probably wait until she is 18.

So that was a punch in the gut.

And as I got home that night I couldn't do anything but sit in my chair and think, "How? How could this happen? Everything was ready, and her mom has always been fine with it. I have already been through this, don't make me do it again!";
He drew a picture of the temple after we taught him the Law of Chastity! So cute!

A couple of days later I read the talk by Elder Lynn G. Robbins, "Until seventy times seven". My feelings of failure were put to rest as he listed off a few reasons why we fail. 
Zone Conference!!! I love Sister Haws so much!!!

"First, the Lord knows that 'these thinks shall give us experience, and shall be for our good'. Second, to allow us to 'tase the bitter, that we may know to prize the good.' Third, to prove that 'the battle is the Lord's', and it is only by His grace that we can accomplish His work and become like Him. Fourth, to help us develop and hone scores of Christlike attributes that cannot be refined except through the opposition and 'in the furnace of affliction'."

I know that the Lord loves us and that I have the wonderful privilege of working alongside Him in His vineyard. He cries, walks, and joys with us in this marvelous work. How grateful I am for that! I love you all, have a great week!

Hey, there isn't too much to share this week, but I am staying here in the island with Hermana Hebertson! We are super excited to get to be here another cambio together. I know that this is the work of the Lord, what a great opportunity it is to get to work alongside him in His vineyard!

I know that as we work hard and are obedient and diligent, the Lord blesses us beyond our wildest dreams. I love getting to walk down the street and follow the Lord, I know that He is guiding us. 
Hermana Roe and Herbertson are staying in Carmen for another transfer together!!

May 13, 2019 Happy Monday Everyone! And happy final week of the mission to me!!! So here's the thing: this is my last letter from the mission field. Next Monday, I'll be traveling to the mission offices in Villa, and Tuesday morning I'm off. Gone. Ouch, it hurts just thinking about it. Let me explain why: A perfect example: Sunday. Yesterday, I really felt the meaning of the hymn, "I Stand All Amazed". First, because Hilaria was baptized! She met the hermanas about 10 months ago, and we had actually left her, because I thought that she would never get around to it. But we felt like we needed to darle una vuelta, so we did. And she told us that it was time, she was ready to get baptized. I thought, "HA! Será. We´ll find out." Very quickly we were able to notice that the Spirit had been working on her. Patience is a heavenly virtue

May 6, 2019 Happy Monday everybody! Can I just say, the Lord is so good to us? He really is. And I love Him. This past week, I was studying and thinking about what I should develop of the Christlike attributes. You already know, when we ask God what we need to improve or change, He lets us know pretty quickly.  So I am trying to develop more patience. I like it, it is very closely related with faith and hope. At the end of my study, I prayed for the opportunity to develop patience.  HE ANSWERED. Splits with Herbertson! So great! This week, it was hot.  This week, it was very, very, hot. It was also the "Día del Niño" so everybody was out and about partying, just like the past 2 weeks. So there weren't very many people available.  We planned well, but the backups to the backups fell. Just Keep Swimming

Hola Family, Swimming in rain. Just for a couple of days. But SO much. I think that for a moment God was tempted to send another flood. Can´t say I blame him. Happy Monday! Today (as is everyday) was an expierience. We went to Palenque today (it is only about an hour away) to play sports with a couple of other zones. Super fun! It is hilarious. Because there are all these latinos who are born with a soccer ball in their hand... and then there is the crazy American running around like a pollo sin su cabeza. All of the Elders now know to fear me and my mad soccer and bball skills. haha Gotta love me a coke down here in Mexico!!! Life is good! Working hard down here. I was so happy this past week because we had an awesome lesson with our fecha, Elizabeth. I felt the strongest impression during the lesson to tell her that she is loved.
