The source of all Happiness!!!

Hi everyone,                                                                                                              March 12, 2018

If you listen carefully, you can hear me sizzling from the heat.

Hello everybody! Happy Monday! Things are rolling down here in little Zapata. There were a lot of wonderful things that happened this week, so we are going to punch them out.

First off, we had the baptism of Citlali and Miriam yesterday morning before church! That was great. They are so sweet and genuinely want to change and improve. It was special because their moms also came and even stayed for sacrament meeting! Miracles all across the board.
Baptism of Citlali and Miriam!!! Their cute Momma's came!!! It was wonderful!

I got to go to the temple!!! It was a miracle!
Something funny: Every day is a hoot down here, there is always something crazy. Pues, I see something crazy, but it takes a moment to register that this maybe isn't normal. (Like sharing a convey with the guy that is taking his turkeys to slaughter.) But we had a good laugh because we had divisions on Friday after zone conf so Hermana Gonzalez (from Guatemala) and I went off to visit one of our investigators with a fecha bautismal. Se llama Roxanna. She is so great!! I love her! We had a great lesson with her and at the end we aked her to do the final prayer. But she begged me to do one in english. We pinkie promised that she would do the next one. So I prayed in english. Lol, it was terrible. 100% spanglish. I couldn't pray in english. It was so hard. So, sorry if nobody can understand me because my english is terrible.
House of God
Was so happy to get MAIL!!!
FOOD!!! SO EXCITED!!!! Thanks Mom and Dad and Grandma!

Zone conference! Was the bestest. We talked about auto-suficiencia. Just like Nefi, who had a really hard life, but kept on trusting in the Lord. We need to be those kinds of missionaries and members. Don't lose the faith. Get up and go to work. Find joy there. AND WE WATCHED COCO. I REPEAT, WE WATCHED COCO. It was amazing. And culturally acurate hahaha. The grandma using her shoe to beat people, the shoe shiners, everything. It was great. recuerda me.... I LOVE THAT SONG. And family history! Super important. Attend the temple!!

The temple! We got to go this week! It was amazing. It was so fun to be in the middle of Villa with all it's craziness and noise and find absolute peace within the grounds and walls of the temple. It was truly an experience I will never forget. There were six of us there, and one Hermana told me she felt like it was her first time all over again because it had been 15 months since she last went to the temple. (we can only go once after we have a year in the mission...unless you are me and have a comp that has more that a year. So I can still go again after a year.) I told the hermana that it was my first time in complete spanish, so we could help each other out.
It was so good to be back in the temple. It is a place that is sacred, special, and rejuvinating.

Guys, I know that the source of all happiness lies within the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is nothing like that moment I get to wrap a towel around a dear friend and investigator coming out of the waters of baptism. There are no words to describe the feeling I get when I sit down beneath the hot sun to teach and feel so keenly how much this child of God is loved. It is hard to not just grab them and beg them to realize that we are here to bring them back to such a loving Heavenly Father.

This life can feel long sometimes. As I prayed in the temple after the session, I was ashamed to admit to my Heavenly Father that I was tired. The thought of going back out into the world seemed daunting and exhausting. The love that filled my heart was unlike anything I have ever felt before. God knows. And He is going to continue to push us forward, so take a deep breath and keep working. Like I always say, "If you can make it past the 100 catholics who love to talk about God but not about His gospel, you'll find someone waiting on the esquina with snow cones and a desire to learn more." (Shout out to Carlos, he is great)

I love you guys! Don't forget to make goals and accomplish them! Have a great week!

Love you,
Hermana Brenna Roe
