Determination

 Hola everybody! A quick one for this week. We had the baptism of Carlos and Diego on Saturday!!! Oh how I love those niños. So great. Everything went well with that, they are happy so we are happy.

A cool experience this week was when we went to go and visit Nadia. She lives wayyyy out there, and is a Mom of 2. (she lives in the colonia palmar, I sent pics of it) She was telling us how stressed she is, because she is a teen mom with a partner that doesn't exactly support her. There was just something so tender in standing in the doorway of her small, cramped home made of tin and cinderblocks, singing "Count your many blessings" watching as the sun went down. After we changed her baptismal date until the 12th of May I think. We explained to her that she either needed to get married to her partner or separate from him. We asked her if she was willing to get baptized and she told us, "La verdad que sí." And added, "Whether my partner is here or not."

She knows it is true and is willing to do anything to follow the Savior. I am learning so much from her determination. It reminds me of Nephi and his determination to get the plates from Laban, even when his brothers wanted to return to their father in the wilderness. 1 Nephi 3:15

I love you all! Set goals and have this determination para lograrlos! Love you!

May 13, 2019 Happy Monday Everyone! And happy final week of the mission to me!!! So here's the thing: this is my last letter from the mission field. Next Monday, I'll be traveling to the mission offices in Villa, and Tuesday morning I'm off. Gone. Ouch, it hurts just thinking about it. Let me explain why: A perfect example: Sunday. Yesterday, I really felt the meaning of the hymn, "I Stand All Amazed". First, because Hilaria was baptized! She met the hermanas about 10 months ago, and we had actually left her, because I thought that she would never get around to it. But we felt like we needed to darle una vuelta, so we did. And she told us that it was time, she was ready to get baptized. I thought, "HA! Será. We´ll find out." Very quickly we were able to notice that the Spirit had been working on her. Patience is a heavenly virtue

May 6, 2019 Happy Monday everybody! Can I just say, the Lord is so good to us? He really is. And I love Him. This past week, I was studying and thinking about what I should develop of the Christlike attributes. You already know, when we ask God what we need to improve or change, He lets us know pretty quickly.  So I am trying to develop more patience. I like it, it is very closely related with faith and hope. At the end of my study, I prayed for the opportunity to develop patience.  HE ANSWERED. Splits with Herbertson! So great! This week, it was hot.  This week, it was very, very, hot. It was also the "Día del Niño" so everybody was out and about partying, just like the past 2 weeks. So there weren't very many people available.  We planned well, but the backups to the backups fell. Just Keep Swimming

Hola Family, Swimming in rain. Just for a couple of days. But SO much. I think that for a moment God was tempted to send another flood. Can´t say I blame him. Happy Monday! Today (as is everyday) was an expierience. We went to Palenque today (it is only about an hour away) to play sports with a couple of other zones. Super fun! It is hilarious. Because there are all these latinos who are born with a soccer ball in their hand... and then there is the crazy American running around like a pollo sin su cabeza. All of the Elders now know to fear me and my mad soccer and bball skills. haha Gotta love me a coke down here in Mexico!!! Life is good! Working hard down here. I was so happy this past week because we had an awesome lesson with our fecha, Elizabeth. I felt the strongest impression during the lesson to tell her that she is loved.
