The Worth of Souls

April 9, 2018

Happy Monday otra vez! We are happy as ever down here. And I thought it was impossible, but also hot as ever. You can take that how you want to. ðŸ˜‰

We had a lot of rejection this week, which was fun. It was awesome to see the Lord's hand in all things. We had 4 of our fechas fall (people that had a date set for the baptism) and we really wanted to be able to meet with the goal of the mission, which is to always maintain 10 investigators with fechas. We were like, ok, we have got to put 4 more fechas in 1 day. And we did, by some amazing miracles! It was amazing to see how the Lord blesses those who just keep trying. Don't get down on yourself! He is always there to bless and lift you up. By the end of this week we were able to boost ourselves up to above the goal of the mission, which is one of the best feelings ever. Ya'll, set goals that are in line with the Lord, and never give up.
Hermana Bicenta made a beautiful cake for Hermana Sanchez's Birthday!!!

As I was studying this week, I was reading in Jesus the Christ. I was absolutely amazed at the perfection of Christ. It is something I take for granted a lot of the time. But being that perfect could not have been easy.

Streets flood after just 20 minutes of rain

It amazes me the meekness of the Lord. This amazing being, who created the very earth we walk on, knelt and washed the earth stained feet of His 12 apostles. He graciously taught and set a perfect example for all to follow who were willing. He knew the terror that awaited Him in the Garden of Gethsemani and went forward with an eye single to the glory of His Father. He emerged from the garden bloodied, exhausted, and without fanfare. And in the very hour of His infinite triumph over pain and sin, one of His own betrayed Him.

The Prince of Peace was sold off for 30 pieces of silver. Roughly translated to $17. How could anybody put a pricetag on Him?

Not only has Jesus Christ overcome sin and death, He has overcome social opinions, feelings of inadequacy, and feeling completely alone.

As we learn to trust the Savior of us all, we will also come to trust in ourselves and His servants in this wonderful life of ours. Go forward with faith, and rejoice! The Lord has overcome the world. Keep smiling, keep trying.

I love you all. Until next week!

Love,
Hermana Roe

The Worth of Souls
Sergio, Angel and Diego.. faithful little guys!!!

Hello!,

Just quickly wanted to share the thought for this week. Don't have a lot of time because we are down here in Palenque and have to travel back. Today we went to the ruins again and had a blast. It was the entire zone pretty much, so you know what that means...AMERICANS!!!! Haha I haven't spoken so much english in my life. It was solid. Super fun to be with Mama Huber for a moment.

Yesterday was so great. It was raining like crazy, so we knew that there weren't going to be very many people at church, because when it rains it is that jungle rain which is hardcore. We were like, we are going to pass by for the niños Angel (recent convert) and Diego (little brother, getting baptized this week). But, they WALKED IN THE RAIN IN THEIR ADORABLE BUTTON DOWN SHIRTS WITH THEIR HAIR ALL COMBED NICELY. They arrived at the church without any help. These kids are 10 and 9 years old. Oh how I love them. Little Diego was just like, Yeah, I am a little wet. Siempre amazed at the faithfulness of these people.
Sweet Reunion with Hermana Huber today!!!! I LOVE HER!!!

The church of Jesus Christ is perfect and true. I can feel it all over again when we are teaching. It doesn't matter the circumstances, whether we are in a beautiful home teaching or out in the front yard teaching while a drunk pulls up a chair and decides to chill for a minute. (that was hilarious.)
I ate the long one! Just stick your knife in and pull out the meat! YUM!

I love you all! Cuidese mucho
