Pure Joy

Hello everyone,

know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I  glory in it. do not glory of myself, but glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is myglory, that perhaps may be an instrument in the hands ofGod to bring some soul to repentance; and thiis my joy.

Alma 29:9                                                                                                     April 2, 2018

Happy Monday ya'll! We are happy and re-energized down here after an edifying conference. We worked hard to have our investigators come to conf, because if we didn't have inv. there then we couldn't watch. (unless in was the sunday morning session) But we receive many blessings down here (I think God knows how much we stink and need some AC) so we got to watch the conf in the church! I expecially relished the songs, because they don't translate those. Haha. But the Spirit speaks in cualquier language!
This is what PURE JOY looks like!!! Love Roxana and her courage!

Even without the support and presence of her family she chose to be baptized!!!

Yummy Ice Cream from our investigator!
This is how we roll in Mexico. Chicken out of a bowl and salsa out
of an old yougurt cup!
We had divisions for the weekend. We were laughing so hard because we had to take the food with us to the convey station. There, we found another Hermana (member) that had some salsa on her and gave us agua de piña. We were laughing so hard because we were in this convey eating chicken out of a bucket with salsa in an old yogurt cup. Mexico never ceases to make me smile. Also, we are enjoying the trio because we don't know how long it will last. But, you may refer to us as the 3 Nefitas. Nephites. 😁

We were super excited because on Saturday right after the 2nd session, Roxana got baptized! I love this girl. We always have so much fun. She understands so easily the scriptures and everything.  She wasn't sure last tuesday when we visited her, but we had a fun activity about the Holy Ghost and she got baptized! Nobody from her family bothered to come, but she just did it, without complaint. I love that girl. Glad she understands now how vital the Holy Ghost is.
This baptism was different. The Spirit is always present at baptisms, but as she was baptized I felt the Spirit so so strongly. It was one of those undeniable moments when I just knew that this is so right. God is so good. After, Roxana was changing her clothes, and I saw hna. Villarreal (Hna. Sanchez was in Palenque and couldn't make it)  and we silently embraced and just sat for a moment marveling at the Spirit testifying to us that we were  in the midst of the work of the Lord.

Truly this is the work of angels, as Elder Holland once said.

Grateful for this time in my life. It is crazy and wonderful. Missions are unpredictable, but we can always control whether our mouth turns up in a smile or down in a frown. Follow impressions. And I know that as we take heed to the prophets word from this conference, as we develop and seek personal revelation, we will be opened to a whole new world of love, knowledge, and possibilities. I love you all! Happy Abril! Happy easter!
2 shades of tan:)
God is mindful of us wherever we are. Sunday morning I decided to make some eggs because we always make that special dutch oven meal with eggs in it for conf. So I was celebrating with my eggs. Then, we ate with an Hermana and before she left she gave us a slice of homemade pizza! It was the exact same almost and the ones we do at home. God knows. Even the simplest things.

Sigan adelante!

Hermana Roe
