Do What You Can

February 26, 2018

Holy cats people happy Monday again! The days take 6 years and the weeks take 2 minutes.

We had the baptism of Isis! It was great. She is seriously going to help out with this branch so much, and affect future generations. Love her so much! Even if she was crying for a little while because she thought she looked ugly in her jumper. Haha bless her. Excited for her and for this branch! We get a lot of support from this branch. They feed us lunch every day, which is great. Even though sometimes I just want a good old fashioned lunch that Mom always made me.
Got to go play sport with these Sisters in another area today! So fun for Pday!

Something that I love to learn and teach over and over again is how we are a  fallen people. Imperfect. Incomplete. But through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we are given grace sufficient for our needs and so much more. When people hear this, it just resonates with them. For example, our dear investigator Maria Jose. I love this girl. She is 20, and already has twins that are 3 or 4 years old, and another little baby. We have been teaching her for a couple of weeks now, and I am continually amazed every single time we meet with her. She knows, she already has a testimony. She does her best to read the Book of Mormon with her crazy schedule with her three young children. She is praying, however simply.

On Saturday we met with her before we left for the church to get stuff done for the baptism, and as she offered the closing prayer and prayed for Isis. She said "Bless this girl that is going to receive the Holy Ghost today." You guys, she just gets it! We taught the Law of Chastity with her, because she isn't married to the father of her children. She explained to us that her husband didn't want to get married, because he was convinced that all marriages end in divorce. We talked about how God is still a God of Miracles. So also in her prayer she said, "Ahora luchamos" which means to wrestle or fight. She knows what is right, and knows that with God she can conquer all the struggles that lay ahead.
She is doing what she can. And giving God the rest.

Sunday I didn't know why but I felt prompted to pray to be reminded of my worth that day. So I did, even though I felt fine. Later, during gospel principles class I was wishing that I could actively participate and help more, but I wasn't quick enough or didn't have the vocabulary. Quietly and lovingly the Spirit whispered, Do what you can. We don't need to do everything, but often the things that we can do are more than we think.

I am blessed beyond mortal understanding. I am surrounded by loving members, missionaries, and investigators. The scriptures are true and help us in ways that are amazing and nothing short of miraculous. I love all of you! Hasta proximo lunes!
