The Son of the Everlasting God

 Happy Monday again! Oh my lanta, next week is Christmas!! Woohooooo! I am super stoked. I love Christmas, I love celebrating the birth of our Savior. I love Him. And He loves all of us!!

I am starting the Book of Mormon again, and something I read in 1 Nephi chapter 11 caught my attention.

28 And I beheld that he went forth ministering unto the people, in power and great glory; and the multitudes were gathered together to hear him; and I beheld that they cast him out from among them. 

31 And he spake unto me again, saying: Look! And I looked, and I beheld the Lamb of God going forth among the children of men. And I beheld multitudes of people who were sick, and who were afflicted with all manner of diseases, and with devils and unclean spirits; and the angel spake and showed all these things unto me. And they were healed by the power of the Lamb of God; and the devils and the unclean spirits were cast out.

32 And it came to pass that the angel spake unto me again, saying: Look! And I looked and beheld the Lamb of God, that he was taken by the people; yea, the Son of the everlasting God was judged of the world; and I saw and bear record.
33 And I, Nephi, saw that he was lifted up upon the cross and slain for the sins of the world. 
I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and He is perfect. He really is. He is also patient and loving and diligent. I have loved being able to testify time after time, especially is the past couple of weeks as we prepare for Christmas, that He lives! He was born, learned, and loved. Loved us so that he looked at all the pain and suffering and heartbreak He would have to pass through for us and called it worth it. 



Don't look at me, I don't understand it either. I can't comprehend that kind of love. But oh boy am I grateful for that perfect love. 
This week we met a military veteran who has a hard time speaking due to years of smoking. As we taught about the life of Jesus Christ, I was startled to see this supposedly hardened man with tears running down his face. When I asked, "Adrian, what do you feel when you think about Jesus Christ?" He just shook his head, and the only thing he could communicate was pointing to his heart and with a look in his tear filled eyes I don't think I can ever forget. And right there, in the Colonia Lealtad where there are about a thousand hills and even more dogs out in the street, I got to sit and teach about God's love and Christ's sacrifice. I got to testify that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints allows us to partake of that love fully.
The Lord knows us, He knows our heart. I know that to be true. I love my Savior. How wonderful it is to know that He loves me too. 
Gotta admit, this stuff now runs in my veins! Love it!

May 13, 2019 Happy Monday Everyone! And happy final week of the mission to me!!! So here's the thing: this is my last letter from the mission field. Next Monday, I'll be traveling to the mission offices in Villa, and Tuesday morning I'm off. Gone. Ouch, it hurts just thinking about it. Let me explain why: A perfect example: Sunday. Yesterday, I really felt the meaning of the hymn, "I Stand All Amazed". First, because Hilaria was baptized! She met the hermanas about 10 months ago, and we had actually left her, because I thought that she would never get around to it. But we felt like we needed to darle una vuelta, so we did. And she told us that it was time, she was ready to get baptized. I thought, "HA! Será. We´ll find out." Very quickly we were able to notice that the Spirit had been working on her. Patience is a heavenly virtue

May 6, 2019 Happy Monday everybody! Can I just say, the Lord is so good to us? He really is. And I love Him. This past week, I was studying and thinking about what I should develop of the Christlike attributes. You already know, when we ask God what we need to improve or change, He lets us know pretty quickly.  So I am trying to develop more patience. I like it, it is very closely related with faith and hope. At the end of my study, I prayed for the opportunity to develop patience.  HE ANSWERED. Splits with Herbertson! So great! This week, it was hot.  This week, it was very, very, hot. It was also the "Día del Niño" so everybody was out and about partying, just like the past 2 weeks. So there weren't very many people available.  We planned well, but the backups to the backups fell. Just Keep Swimming

Hola Family, Swimming in rain. Just for a couple of days. But SO much. I think that for a moment God was tempted to send another flood. Can´t say I blame him. Happy Monday! Today (as is everyday) was an expierience. We went to Palenque today (it is only about an hour away) to play sports with a couple of other zones. Super fun! It is hilarious. Because there are all these latinos who are born with a soccer ball in their hand... and then there is the crazy American running around like a pollo sin su cabeza. All of the Elders now know to fear me and my mad soccer and bball skills. haha Gotta love me a coke down here in Mexico!!! Life is good! Working hard down here. I was so happy this past week because we had an awesome lesson with our fecha, Elizabeth. I felt the strongest impression during the lesson to tell her that she is loved.
