Ye Shall Obtain

Hola familia y amigos!                                                                                              December 13, 2017

This past week has been a wonderful experience. I am so grateful to be alive and to have the ability to amuse people with my subpar spanish skills. #blessed

God is so good to me. I wanted to share a quick experience I had. I was sitting in class one day (surprise, I know) and was just thinking about how crazy life is. And how scary it can be sometimes. Spanish is interesting, I was stressing about trying to remember the tenses and tones, and suddenly a still small voice said to me, "Ye Shall Obtain". I was quiet for a minute because I was trying to figure out what exactly I would be obtaining. The language? God's plan for who I should be? What? I had been stressing about all those things. But I decided to not worry about it, that God´s timing is perfect and all would be revealed to me so long as I continued to work hard and be His servant.
A few days later was Sunday, and we were blessed to have Presidente y Hermana Bennett join in our sacrament meeting. They were the final speakers. Hermana Bennett said something very interesting about spanish. ¨"Every missionary after the first 2 transfers knows Spanish." That doesn´t mean fluent, but they know it. The Holy Ghost sweetly brought back to my remembrance, "Ye Shall Obtain." I was grateful and excited about that, because I had received an answer.

But God always gives us so much more.

Presidente Bennett then spoke. He was explaining the concept of the fact that we always get more with God. Joseph Smith had a simple question, and he became the prophet of the restoration. Presidente Bennett spoke about how God had given him and wonderful spouse, children, and many opportunities to serve. Once again, very strongly and con claridad, the words "Ye Shall Obtain" were repeated to me.

Missions are not for just 18 months or two years. I accepted a call long before I was born. My life is my mission. Currently it is just a little more straight forward. My mission is literally Alma 26:27. So cool, because I get to fulfill the purpose of the libro de mormón, It was first and foremost created for the Lamanites. Then the Jews, and lastly the Gentiles, (us).

Basically the moral of this week is in DyC 58. (specifally 58:2-4) Please don't think I am banking on having an all-star family of my own someday. But I do believe con todo mi corazon, alma, mente y fuerza that God is so generous with us and give us more than we even think to ask for.

I love you all! Have a wonderful week!

Love, Hermana Roe
